LETTER OF THE MONTH:

November 2009

Hello Sylvia. I know you get a lot of emails from Australia also, but I was hoping you would remember me. You helped so much in August when I discussed our mare who was mistreated and you confirmed my idea to move her to a more horse whispering agistment. Well...She is doing so well and happy, content and she looks forward to me coming to see her; she runs down and follows me to the gate, she nudges the halter now to put it back on when I am leaving (This is the same horse who tried to bite and kick me when she saw her halter)!!!! I hope that you are going well, and I still plan to buy your equipment and dvds shortly. Thanks and will catch up soon

K. V. - Australia

LETTER OF THE MONTH:

November 2009

Hi Sylvia. Well, I've been doing what you told me to with my horse. When asking her to leave the barn this time she kicked her foot out. So instead of getting in a battle with her, I tried the waiting and being patient idea first. I think she could have stood there all day. Unfortunately I didn't have all day with kids and all, so I got off and worked her a bit on the ground. Got back on and "voila", she was good as gold. So we took breaks, she ate grass, then I asked again and so on. Then about 1/2 mile down the road, same stopping thing. So I asked with my leg, she kicked out. So I got off, worked her just a little. Hopped back on and the rest of the ride was great. She is a really nice girl. I think she just has a lot of insecurities about riding out alone. So we will work on that. Anyway, she is doing good.

Thanks for your help!

Hi Sylvia, your training DVD's [I ordered from you] have arrived and I am feeling pretty silly now re my previous email. You must have thought me a real dill!!! Having watched each DVD several times, I think I now have a bit of an understanding as to what your training system is all about. No matter how many of your articles and emails you read, there is nothing liking seeing you in action. I will be recommending that everyone who is serious about helping their horse purchase your Complete Training Package. I was doing it oh so wrong! No wonder my horse was taking a while to cotton on. I must have been confusing him utterly. After one session of round penning the correct way now, his head was much lower and I felt much more like a leader; previously he was coming in to join under his terms and I was letting him!! How embarrassing. Thanks again. We are far from out of the woods, but we have found first base ...Anyway this is a big thank you from him and me as I was on the point of having to give up on him. I am an older Aussie bushy who was pretty set in the old ways of horsemanship, so thank you for enlightening me and showing me alternative approaches. I shall certainly be passing your down-to-earth training methods on. They are truly refreshing after all the entrepreneurial showmanship we have previously received from your country!

Hi Sylvia. I've just recently bought all of your DVD's so that I can learn more about how to bond and train my mare. I've only watched the Round Pen Leadership DVD for the moment, and the Complete Guide to Horse Breeding, Foaling and Foal Training, Featuring Bob Claymier...I absolutely love your DVD's! I'm in such awe of what you do. Thank you so much for making these!

Sylvia, your advice helped a lot. It astounds me that you are not telling me to disregard my sensitivity for my horse's feelings. And I am really proud of my husband, because what you suggested that he should do is exactly what he did today, on his own, just reading the horse and his reactions. He instinctively did the right thing! I so appreciate you answering my e-mail and even more, I appreciate you not telling us to force something we are not that good at yet down our horses' throats. It's as if you really care about their feelings. And I appreciate that more than I can express. I want to love my horse and not have him do the right thing because he is afraid not to. I want him to enjoy his relationship with me. What a different approach to horsemanship than anything I have ever learned before! Thanks again. Your biggest fan,

K. M. - Angier, North Carolina

LETTER OF THE MONTH:

November 2009

I have your Whispering Way™ 12-Step Total Training System DVD set...I'm so happy, I was able to lend your DVD's to someone really old school that can be quite rough. I know he'll be your biggest fan (next to me that is!) once he gets started. He's a terrific rider, and very brave for someone in his mid sixties, but recently had a friend's horse go over backward on him. I am very sure his heavy-handed approach and mixed signals sent this mare over the edge. Keep us posted if you have any new DVD's coming out. I'm going to have to work on begging for your halter/lead rope for Christmas. Cheers,

M. G. - Sorrento, British Columbia, Canada
