 Lucinda McAlpine

Lucinda McAlpine - www.lucindamcalpine.com
Lucinda uses various techniques to work with both the physical and the mental/emotional problems with an aim to finding the best that the horse can be. The work is both from the ground and also ridden, as necessary, and she works from an intuitive standpoint using her bond with that horse to dictate the course of the session. The ridden work aims to build the athletic ability of the horse to carry the rider in the most efficient and comfortable way possible, the work free enables the horse to find his full movement potential for himself and to recognise and loosen any tightness that is limiting that ability.

 Dan Brown

Dan Brown - www.qssouthwest.co.uk
Dan Brown is a member of the Quantum Savvy instructor team. Quantum Savvy South West UK offers natural horsemanship coaching, training and support across the South West as well as the rest of the UK. Quantum Savvy's unique release-focused training system is revolutionary in the horesmanship world. Dan began riding at aged 14, and after teaching as a conventional riding instructor, was attracted to natural horsemanship by a desire to understand and feel for the horse as a willing partner. He discovered Quantum Savvy and immediately enrolled in their home study programme. He also applied to study in Australia as a working pupil, and was accepted for an eleven week placement. Whilst there, he studied firsthand with Shane, Meredith and other Quantum Savvy Professionals and achieved his Level 2 in the programme. On returning to the UK, Dan set up the first UK agency, and began supporting students on study plans and through a range of events, whilst studying for his own level 3. Dan returned to Australia for two months of intensive study at the QSSC, during which time he graduated as an Entry Level Instructor. Dan is able to provide a greater range of services to students , while he works hard to achieve status as a fully endorsed instructor. A dedicated student, Dan is excited to be able to pass on what he has learnt, and help others achieve their goals with horses! He teaches regularly throughout Devon and Cornwall, and is keen to develop other professionals throughout the UK.

Penny Hill

Penny Hill - www.caringhorsemanship.co.uk
Caring Horsemanship isn't new, it’s a phrase to sum up a unique connection and partnership through feel which leads into other parts of your life, not just when you’re with your horse. It teaches you patience, a listening quality, timing and balance, again not only on your horse and of course out of that comes leadership, confidence and maybe life changing experiences. Things that irritate you become insignificant. Horses can take you to places that you have never been before.

 Joanne Forster

Joanne Forster - www.joanneforster.co.uk
When people refer to Natural Horsemanship or Horse Whispering, they refer to the relationship that can be created between man and horse based upon an understanding of trust, respect and leadership. Allowing the horse the time to think will grow his confidence and trust no matter what you ask him or her to jump or cross. Training takes time and patience, not force and intimidation.

Kate Prowse - www.kateprowse.co.uk
Nature has designed the horse and the human at opposite ends of the prey animal - predator spectrum. Both species have opposing ways of viewing the world and very different motivational stimuli. By learning about horse behaviour and understanding why humans act the way we do, you can unlock the heart of a horse so that he will give you his all, willingly. Build a lasting relationship with your horse, based on trust and acceptance. Overcome problems like bracing, pulling away, shying, napping, bucking. Lyla Cansfield

Lyla Cansfield - www.playlikeahorse.com
Take the mystery out of horse whispering and learn to play like a horse! My goal is to empower people to live their dream with horses. For some that is to ride bareback and bridle-less. For others it is to ride the piaffe. Maybe to have your horse run to you when you call his name or to have a safe ride out with friends. Whatever it may be, impossibly large or very simple, it is important to me that you have the tools to be able to achieve it. Horsemanship is a journey and a dream, living that possibility and enjoying the process to get there. I don't care what it is you want to do, I just care that you can get there!!

Paula Wroath

Paula Wroath - www.naturallystarted.co.uk
Natural horsemanship is a way of communicating with horses based on trying to understand their point of view first, and using that knowledge to mold the horse into what we ultimately want him to do with us. Naturally started horses tend to be calmer, cleverer, braver and more accommodating than some horses broken in using more traditional methods.

Steve Thompson

Steve Thompson - www.horsehandler.co.uk
If communication between a horse and the handler breaks down it can lead to bad equine behaviour, frustration and resentment on both sides. Advice of the “he’s just trying it on - give him a good wallop” variety may be offered, but obviously pain and fear will only increase the bad feelings. Steve believes that it is important while training problem horses to change their behaviour and that there are three main stages in establishing a successful training partnership with a horse or pony: Compassion - Consideration - Cooperation. Steve is totally non-scary, has good stable manners, likes strong white tea with two sugars, and the majority of his clients around the UK are now his friends. (Clients who also supply him with a chocolate eclair are classed as very bestest friends!)

David Stuart

David Stuart - www.davidstuart.com.au
David's strengths are the beginnings and the development of a foundation on a horse. A solid foundation is about the preparation and building blocks for the future; it's about getting a good start in life to then go on and build a future. With horses it is about getting a horse to where they are self confident and understanding of the task at hand. The better the preparation and foundation, the better the outcome. Laying a foundation for performance is the best preparation for success for both horse and rider.

Arran Parker

Arran Parker - www.studentofthehorse.co.uk
Student of the Horse is able to provide a unique and individual service to all who seek equine enlightenment. As horse owners and riders we often ask things of our horses which do not come naturally to them. Regardless of whether our goal is to enjoy a leisurely hack or if you're already accomplished within your discipline, strengthening your foundation will be key to ongoing and progressive success. The same way an athlete wouldn't go and compete at a high level without solid mental, emotional and physical fitness. Student of the Horse sets both the horse and the owner/rider up for success to go on to achieve their goals in all equestrian spheres, in a natural way.

Philippa Unwin

Philippa Unwin - www.pippsway.co.uk
Philippa Unwin teaches all aspects of horsemanship from ground handling to tack fitting; from confident riding at every level to managing injuries and disease; from nutrition to pasture management. Pip's teaching works in harmony with both horse and rider on a deep spiritual level. The training is available either on an individual basis or in a group environment, where often the sharing of other's experiences will help you identify and resolve any issues of your own in the spirit of partnership and pleasure. Pip's teaching allows both horse and handler to understand each other in order to open the lines of communication and to recognise how the human action can inadvertently influence the response of the horse. There is no blame or punishment just reward and a glorious sense of achievement for both.

    Rebecca Johns

Rebecca Johns - www.equineconnections.co.uk
Rebecca Johns is a qualified Instructor for Applied Equine Behaviour - based in Sussex, with many years experience of horses, my practice is based on working with horses, and their owners / riders / handlers to promote communication, balance and harmony. This could be in the form of help with a particular behavioural issue, or lessons (on the ground or ridden) to improve feel and timing, balance and rhythm. I trained with Applied Equine Behaviour - a training based on an understanding of the innate behaviour of horses and its application to training. This natural horsemanship approach is quiet and effective, and combines well with conventional training and pursuits. I am based near Forest Row in Sussex and am mobile so can travel to your home or yard. If you prefer to travel your horse and have a lesson away from home, this can also be arranged.
